Since Christmas I’ve been the proud owner of an air fryer, it was a gift, so I’ve been doing some experiments and figuring things out.
It’s s just the basic base model, no extra pans, turbo, pots or trays came with it just the wire basket … the basic. I did look at getting the extras but wow the price, I’ll figure it out.
So I found a glass dish I’d bought years ago from Ikea that fits, I’ve found that I’m getting adept at making foil dishes to fit in the basket (though not entirely environmentally friendly).
I’ve found that I love that it only takes 3 minutes to heat up and it cooks quicker than the oven, probably because it’s like a little fan forced oven. I find that sometimes it’s a little bit limiting I can just fit in 2 drumsticks and a few chips it is only a meal cooker for 1 or 2 persons, but on the whole I’m happy with it.
What have I tried, choc self saucing pudding, cupcakes (can only fit 5 silicone cups at a time) or a small cake, chips, potato wedges, sweet potato crisps, hash browns, 2 mini meat loaves, 4 rissoles.
After doing my cake I found that 1 cake mix made the 5 cupcakes and 1 small cake if making more definitely use your normal oven as it’s impractical to keep going back in small batches.
